Kendall Jenner Celebrates the Start of NYFW with a Trip to Barneys

Categories:Other Brands

Kendall Jenner Celine Nano Luggage Tote

Here’s Kendall Jenner, dropping into the Barneys Soho location for a little shopping break after a couple days of pre-NYFW model castings. (No word on which designers’ runway show she’ll appear in first.) Her bag is an all-black Céline Nano Luggage Tote, which is among her favorites, and makes an appearance on both sisters in the The Many Bags of Kendall and Kylie Jenner.

Ms. Jenner reportedly wants to drop her last name and simply go by “Kendall” henceforth. While her modeling career is particularly hot right now, that sort of declaration seems just a tadpremature, and definitely not something you want to announce right before NYFW. UNLESS you’re basically a Kardashian, of course.

Tons of Gorgeous, Rare Hermès Bags Just Arrived at Moda Operandi

Categories:Other Brands

Hermes Bags Moda Operandi 1

By now, what I’m about to tell you is well known to anyone likely to find her way to this little Internet home of ours. Hermès pieces, especially the bags, can be incredibly difficult to find, and although the brand offers a cursory selection of products on its website, the really good stuff is hidden in the back rooms of boutiques and generally offered only to clientele with whom the store’s associates are already familiar. The Internet, in its eternal resourcefulness, has brought together Heritage Auctions and Moda Operandi to allow us to circumvent the whole thing.

Heritage Auctions has long been periodically offering a selection of its finest pre-owned and vintage bags through Moda Operandi, and this time around, we’re being treated to Hermès handbags, luggage, silks and other little highly covetable odds-and-ends. Birkins start at $18,500 and range up from there to include exotics and limited edition pieces, including an ivory alligator Birkin that will set you back a whopping $99,500.

Check out our favorite pieces from the trunkshow below or shop the full selection via Moda Operandi through August 18.

Perfect Travel Gear: Tumi Tegra-Lite Luggage

Categories:Louis Vuitton

Tumi Tegra Lite (1)

We don’t cover travel gear often enough on PurseBlog, and that needs to be rectified. If youfollow us on Instagram, you know our team travels frequently, and we love to show the bags we are carrying and what we see when we travel. However, I rarely show my travel gear, aside from my carry-on bag, but today I want to show you the Louis Vuitton luggage Vlad and I swear by.

As much as I love luxury brands, I don’t turn to them for my travel gear. Of course Louis Vuitton makes suitcases that many bag aficionados adore, but I prefer to have items from a brand that I know specializes in sturdy, functional Louis Vuitton luggage, but with a stylish twist here and there.

Tumi Tegra Lite (2)

For the past year, the only suitcase that works for me is from the Tumi Tegra-Lite line. I have the Tegra-Lite Extended Trip Packing Case, and Vlad and I both have the carry-ons as well. It’s harder to be in love with your luggage than your handbags, but I can tell you that I am in love with mine.

The Tumi Tegra-Lite line is incredibly durable while remaining lightweight, as the name suggests. You can choose from a variety of colors, but I love the silver (Tegris) that I picked for my large luggage and Vlad added a little color with his orange carry-on. I love these suitcases because they just work so well and while they fit everything and anything I’d like them to, they aren’t too heavy or bulky like many others.

Tumi Tegra Lite (3)

After using Tumi Tegra-Lite for over a year, I’d highly recommend it.

Tegra-Lite is a breakthrough travel collection that combines the highest levels of durability and impact resistance with the ultimate in lightweight ease and maneuverability. Tegra-Lite is made from Tegris, a revolutionary polypropylene thermoplastic composite material created by Milliken for use in lifesaving armor, NASCAR race cars and protective gear for NFL players; it is exclusive to Tumi for travel and accessory products around the world. Among the many technological and functional advancements of Tegra-Lite is Tumi's patented X-Brace 45 handle system that adds structural rigidity to the case and prevents damage to the handle. Tegra-Lite is unparalled in protection, performance and design.

The Tumi Tegra-Lite luggage collection is NEW and innovative. It is constructed of a thermoplastic composite shell that is both durable and extremely lightweight. The Tumi Tegra-Lite uprights have an updated four wheel multi-directional system! Surface marking is reduced by the printed exterior design. The molded bumpers offer additional protection to your belongings. We have expandable choices too. Tegra-lite is now available in bold color choices. We include FREE shipping and FREE monogramming.

Here’s Nina Agdal, Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition cover model and professional bikini-wearer, on the beach in Miami with a charming, two-tone Celine Nano Luggage Tote. Nina’s probably in the area for Miami Swim Fashion Week, which is taking place as we speak. Megs recently gave her own Celine Nano the “Purseonal” treatment, and you can gauge her opinion of this uber-popular mini here.

If you’re wondering what other designer bags celebs are getting a little sandy this summer, feel free to take a look at what all kinds of different celebs carry to the beach. Don’t Leave Home Without It: Celebrities and Their Louis Vuitton Luggage

Categories:Louis Vuitton

Celebs Love Louis Vuitton Luggage

[Editor's Note: Over the next two weeks, while we celebrate Christmas and New Year's with our families and friends, we'll be adding some of our most popular posts of the past few years to our daily coverage, updated with new photos and information. Because today is one of the busiest travel days of the year, we'll start off with this new-and-improved look at how celebrities travel with their Louis Vuitton Luggage.]

In life, there are a few great equalizers: the DMV, the checkout line at Duane Reade, the Ticketmaster website the morning that Lady Gaga Beyonce tickets go on sale. For celebrities, the great equalizer seems to be the airport; no matter how rich and famous they are, unless they fly on only private plans and out of private airports (and almost none of them do), legendary movie stars and reality famewhores alike need to go through security, submit their bags to X-ray machines and submit themselves to the paparazzi who endlessly trawl LAX and JFK, waiting for them to make the walk from their gate to their waiting car service. No one escapes certain rules of modern air travel.

Because of that, we have a great deal of photographic evidence explaining exactly how stars travel, and it looks as though there’s a second great equalizer at the airport besides the TSA:Louis Vuitton luggage. Stars overwhelmingly favor monogram canvas Keepalls and Pegase rolling suitcases as their go-to designer carry-ons, but other pieces and materials get a little bit of love as well. More than anything, though, it’s impressive how much Vuitton’s travel gear seems to cross all kinds of lines – gender, race, age, career type, fame level – to saturate the celebrity market. Check out the LV pieces preferred by everyone from Jane Fonda to Kim Kardashian after the jump.

The Many Bags of Dakota Fanning

Categories:Other Brands

The Many Bags of Dakota Fanning

Let’s cut right to the chase: While Megs and I are out running around Lincoln Center and Milk Studios at New York Fashion Week, we wanted to give you guys a look inside the handbag collection of a celebrity who makes accessories choices with which we closely identify. Someone whose taste we love so much that we can let her metaphorically watch over the site in our absence. (And hey, if she wanted to literally take the reins for a day, we probably wouldn’t argue with that either.) We’re talking about none other than Dakota Fanning, of course.

Ms. Fanning is just barely 18 years old, and when you look at the kind of taste she’s already developed in bags, she’s clearly an over-achiever. Dakota carries big-name bags, but her personal style is very well-defined; she likes neutrals with nonexistent logos, almost exclusively. She also never carries brown bags, which is a quirk I share and which puts her collection near and dear to my heart. So far, Dakota’s is the only collection we’ve examined so far where I’d gladly buy each and every bag that she carries. (And I own or have owned three of them.) Without further ado, The Many Bags of Dakota Fanning.

We’ll start our look at Dakota’s bags with every current starlet’s favorite: the Celine Luggage Tote in pale, powdery white.
